Marlins Rock Rockies

For the first time this season the Miami Marlins win back-to-back game, and clinch a series beating the Colorado Rockies 4-1.

The highlight of the night for the Marlins were the young players stepping up to shut down the Rockies. Roddery Munoz took the mound for the Fish for his second career start. Munoz pitched an absolute gem of game allowing only one run, three hits and seven strikeouts in six innings. Bryan Hoeing and Tanner Scott combined for two innings to setup Anthony Maldonado for his first career save. Maldonado kept the steady presence on the mound, and retired the Rockies batters in order.

Offensively for the Marlins Luis Arraez and Bryan De La Cruz each batter in a run early. However, it was an other youngster that help put the Rockies away for good. In the bottom of the ninth-inning Dane Myers was sent to the plate as a pinch hitter with the bases loaded. Myers slapped a two out single that drove in two more runs, and put the Marlins ahead 4-1.

The Marlins look to sweep the series Thursday at loanDepot Park. First pitch is set for 12:10 p.m., and coverage beginning 11:40 a.m. on Fox Sports 940am, or listen locally on the iHeartRadio App.
